![]() ![]() Want to change what the knobs control? It's an easy shift+pad combo. Not only did it give me Ableton's level of integration, it was even better than that! I can use the pads to launch clips, or quickly switch them to drum pads without ever touching the mouse. A little trip to google to see what kind of controller support was out there for Bitwig led me to Jurgen's site to discover what I was missing.DrivenByMoss. I was still missing that really cool integration with the Launchkey that Ableton had, though. So I found myself a copy of Bitwig 8-Track and installed it. Then, I was watching a Venus Theory video on Vital, which had just come out and was intrigued by the DAW that he was using to host the plugin. But it wasn't really working for me because I really liked the clip based workflow of Ableton. I thought about upgrading, but a full version of Ableton is pricey, so I started looking at other DAWs.įirst, I went to Tracktion Waveform Free, mostly because of its lack of limitations with VST plugins. The integration of the Launchkey with Ableton was damn good, but I was already annoyed with the limitations of Lite. I had used Ableton years ago when I had a Mac (probably version 5 or so), so I figured I'd try the copy of Live Lite that came with the Launchkey. I hadn't really settled on a DAW, at that point. Then I saw a video on YouTube showing comparing the MPK with the Launchkey and decided to give the Launchkey a shot. I wanted a mini keyboard to just toss on my desk when I was feeling inspired and was looking at the Akai MPK Mini. I wasn't even looking at the Launchkey, initially.
